Glorious morning in Roatán!

The island of Roatán is part of Honduras. Its waters are bustling with sea life, which makes it a great destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. We visited twice by cruise ship and both times we went scuba diving. I have to say however that after a few years there was less sea life than before.

Large groupers roam the waters surrounding Roatán. This 5ft one swam by to check us out!

We only had a bit of time to explore around Mahogany Bay. Many shops are in proximity of the cruise ship. There is even a chairlift to take you to a small beach near by. It’s also possible to walk to the beach on the other side of the bridge.

Maybe one day we’ll return and have more time to explore the island and its surrounding waters…
